What You'll Do
Service Leaders are responsible for planning and leading Sunday services in collaboration with the Sunday Services Committee. This includes coordinating with speakers and musicians, choosing readings and hymns, guiding the flow of the service, and ensuring that all transitions feel seamless. Leaders may read parts themselves or invite others to participate, while keeping the themeof the service consistent.
Time Commitment
Serve once every few months. Expect some prep time the week prior (selecting materials, confirming participants), plus arrival by ~10:30 AM on the service day. The order of service is due by the Wednesday before the service.
Skills Needed
A willingness to get up in front of people and talk. Ability to read, get into Google Drive, copy and paste, collaborate with others and organize all the parts of the service.
Training & Support
Orientation and mentoring provided by the Sunday Services Committee; access to sample orders of service, readings, and hymn suggestions. Feedback and support available before and after services.
Impact / Why Volunteer?
You will shape the spiritual life of UUCF by helping create meaningful services that inspire reflection, connection, and action. This role builds confidence in leadership and deepens your connection to the congregation.
