The Welcoming Committee plays a vital role in ensuring new visitors and members feel embraced and integrated into the UUCF community. This committee organizes greeters for Sunday services, distributes welcome packets, and coordinates with other groups to support new member orientation and inclusion. It organizes special events -- UUCF's PrideFest booth, Drag Story Hours, brunches with guest speakers, and adult education courses -- and facilitates partnerships with other organizations in our community and social justice networks across the state. It ensures our congregation fulfills the UUA's Five Practices of Welcome Renewal each year for LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and keeps the congregation updated on current social justice action opportunities. The Welcome Committee helps sustain a culture of hospitality and openness in alignment with UU principles.
