What You'll Do
Reflect on the theme of the service. Pull together ideas you would like to share. Write, edit, and time yourself practicing your talk out loud. Resources for ideas are available from Soul Matters. Utilize notes to share your talk to keep it organized and on time.
Time Commitment
3-4 hours in reflection, study, writing, editing, and practice. Please arrive by 10:40 am on the day of the service. Stay to converse for a bit after the service so people can respond.
Skills Needed
A desire to share yourself and your ideas with the congregation. Reading, writing, reflecting, editing, and speaking.
Training & Support
Sunday Services Committee members can point you to Soul Matters resource matereials, and would be pleased to offer mentoring. You are also welcome to practice or share your talk with a committee member in advance.
Impact / Why Volunteer?
This is a wonderful opportunity to share your expereince and your ideas. You will be heard, and perhaps be able to spark meaningful discussion. The congregation will get to know and undertand you better. Even more, you will be contribuitng to the spiritual and/or intellectual growth of the people who hear you.
