Changing or Stopping Your Recurring Gift
Changing the Amount
You can update the amount of your automatic weekly or monthly gift:
- Click Hi {First} → Manage My Donations
- Select Update Giving
- Enter a new amount
- Save your changes
Your updated amount will take effect on the next automatic gift date. The frequency (weekly or monthly) will remain the same.
Changing the Frequency (Cadence)
You cannot change the frequency of an existing automatic gift:
- Weekly cannot be changed to monthly, or monthly to weekly, on the same gift
To change cadence, you will need to:
- Stop your current automatic gift
- Start a new automatic gift with your desired frequency
Stopping Automatic Giving
To stop recurring gifts:
- Click Hi {First} → Manage My Donations
- Click Update Payment Details
- Click the link to open the Stripe Customer Portal
- In Stripe, follow the instructions to cancel your recurring gift
Stripe's wording will indicate that you are canceling your Stripe subscription. This is the only place the word “subscription” is used.
Stopping automatic giving does not affect your giving history, your Member status, or your ability to make one-time or in-person gifts.
