Role Types: Member vs. Friend

The UUCF Member Portal recognizes two main types of users: Members and Friends. Each role has access to different tools based on their relationship with UUCF.

Members

Members are individuals who have formally joined the congregation. In the portal, Members can:

  • Enter and update their annual financial pledge
  • Set up and manage automatic pledge payments
  • View pledge progress, giving history, and related information
  • Submit and update Time & Talent commitments
  • Opt into the Member Directory if they wish to share their contact information
  • Access member-only forms and content

Members who opt into the directory must agree to use it only for UUCF-related communication. Sharing directory information outside the congregation violates UUCF’s privacy policy and may result in removal of directory access.

Friends

Friends are individuals who participate in UUCF life and offer ongoing financial support without being formal Members. In the portal, Friends can:

  • Set up and manage ongoing recurring gifts
  • Make one-time gifts
  • Update their contact information
  • View their donation history and receipts

Friends cannot:

  • Enter annual pledges
  • Appear in or view the Member Directory
  • Access member-only forms or content

Both Members and Friends play an important role in the UUCF community, and the portal is designed to give each group the tools they need to stay connected and engaged.
